Founded in the “oil crisis” days of the late 70’s by Linda Stratz, a former solar energy worker, Stratz Permit Service has always been a company that stands for innovation, efficiency, partnership, and above all, excellent outcomes for its customers.

Linda germinated the idea for Stratz Permit Service while waiting in long lines herself to acquire permits for large, cumbersome, roof-mounted solar energy systems. Her employer (a general contractor who later became her first and best customer) was installing these systems like crazy back in the late 70’s.

As Linda languished in long lines, she noticed, along with her own mounting frustration, the numerous contractors who were wasting time and losing patience acquiring their own permits.

In Linda's own words:

"I began to notice, as I stood at the building department counters, the growing frustrations and flared tempers of contractors who undoubtedly felt they were wasting valuable time.

I quickly learned the value of doing my utmost to work with the cities, not against them. I created friendly working relationships wherever I went".

This spirit of partnership lives on today, as owner Eric Jacoby and his family work with drive and commitment to carry on Linda’s vision.

Eric, an entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience, took over Stratz Permit in July 2002. Linda selected him to continue her legacy because of his honest business ethic - something that has always been a cornerstone of Stratz Permit Service. Eric and Linda share a passion for service and a commitment to reliability.

Along with his own many years of experience and excellent relationship-building skills, Eric brought fresh enthusiasm, and innovative foresight to take the company to new heights.

Today, Eric, his son Ian (who studies construction management at Moorpark College) and daughter, Jennifer, lovingly run Stratz Permit Service as the family business it has always been. They enjoy a great relationship with all of the city departments in Southern California.
